Sheldon Tate, Ed.D is a dynamic leader in campus recreation with a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to fostering student success. Tate champions inclusive environments and impactful programs nationwide. With expertise spanning recreation, student affairs, higher education, executive coaching, and research, he has developed a reputation for culture-building, strategic planning, and project management.
Tate’s leadership extends to managing diverse teams in fast-paced settings, always with a focus on relationship-building and personal growth. Known for his passion, engaging personality, and ability to inspire others, he is driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact—just as others did for him early in his career.
Tate holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas, a Master’s in Leisure Services Management from Oklahoma State University and recently earned his Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Texas Christian University. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys reading, traveling, and trying to keep up with his wife and four kids.​
