Sheldon Tate, Ed.D., is a dynamic leader in campus recreation with a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to fostering student success. Tate champions inclusive environments and impactful programs nationwide. With expertise spanning recreation, student affairs, higher education, executive coaching, and research, he has developed a reputation for culture-building, strategic planning, and project management.
Tate’s leadership extends to managing diverse teams in fast-paced settings, always with a focus on relationship-building and personal growth. Known for his passion, engaging personality, and ability to inspire others, he is driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact—just as others did for him early in his career.
Tate holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas, a Master’s in Leisure Services Management from Oklahoma State University, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Texas Christian University.
Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys reading, traveling, and trying to keep up with his wife and four children.
